Offshore Driller

This third look is a butterscotch-colored jumpsuit inspired by oil rig operators, exploring the tension between industrial labor and the natural ocean environment. Constructed from waxed canvas, the garment emphasizes a utilitarian aesthetic through its structured weight, natural wrinkling, and responsive movement. The look is layered with a green ribbed cotton turtleneck and accessorized with a custom leather belt and handbag, reinforcing its functional yet refined character. Designed as a high-waisted silhouette with an uncommon inner cotton lining, the jumpsuit prioritizes both structure and comfort. Drafted to my own measurements and modeled by me, the piece reflects a strong technical exploration, particularly in overcoming the challenges of sewing waxed canvas, which ultimately strengthened my construction and problem-solving skills.
