Black Mamba
During my summer internship, I designed and constructed a scaled automotive seat prototype that translated conceptual inspiration into a functional, engineered model. Inspired by the form and symbolism of the black mamba snake, the seat’s integrated headrest and high-contrast color palette reflect both luxury sports car aesthetics and trend-driven interior design. Sustainable materials were central to the project, including nubuck leather, Lugano leather, and Renewknit made from recycled polyester. Technically, the seat features a specialized tensioning and stitching method that preserves surface refinement while minimizing visible seams. The project challenged my precision in patternmaking and full-object upholstery, requiring advanced use of AccuMark and Gerber tools and deepening my understanding of the engineering-focused design process under professional production standards.
